Overview

The 1U, one-socket PowerEdge R4715 is optimized for compute density and core-per-rack-unit efficiency, giving growing organizations enterprise-class capability without the acquisition cost or licensing overhead of a dual-socket platform.

The Dell PowerEdge R4715 is powered by a 5th Generation AMD EPYC 9005 Series processor, 24 DDR5 DIMM slots, NVMe BOSS-N1 and iDRAC10.

Ideal for:

  • Virtualization and consolidation
  • Scale-out database
  • Web and app microservices
  • Edge and remote-office deployments

Modernize your infrastructure and maximize your value

The PowerEdge R4715 is a 1U, single-socket rack server engineered around the same 5th Generation AMD EPYC 9005 Series foundation as the wider 17th generation PowerEdge family. A single processor with up to 32 cores lets you consolidate ageing servers into one denser platform and reclaim rack space, power and cooling budget in the process.

Because per-core licensing drives so much of the true cost of a virtualized estate, a high-performance single-socket design is often the more economical answer. The R4715 concentrates that performance into one socket, letting you right-size core counts against your hypervisor and database licensing rather than paying for cores you will not use.

Right-sized configuration for targeted workloads

The R4715 offers configuration flexibility across processor, memory and storage so the platform can be matched precisely to the workload.

  • One 5th Generation AMD EPYC 9005 Series processor with up to 32 cores.
  • 24 DDR5 DIMM slots supporting up to 1.5 TB of registered ECC memory at speeds up to 5200 MT/s.
  • Front storage configurable as 4 x 3.5-inch SAS, 8 x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA, or 8 x U.2 NVMe Gen4 drives.
  • Up to 3 PCIe Gen5 low-profile slots plus 2 OCP NIC 3.0 slots supporting 1 GbE, 10 GbE and 25 GbE.

Efficiency in an air-cooled footprint

The R4715 is an air-cooled platform, avoiding the facilities investment that liquid-cooled servers require. Up to four sets of dual-fan hot-plug modules sustain airflow under load, while Platinum and Titanium power supplies at 800 W and 1100 W, with Fault Tolerant Redundancy, support both efficiency and uptime.

Cyber Resilient Architecture for Zero Trust IT environment & operations

Security is integrated into every phase of the PowerEdge lifecycle, including protected supply chain and factory-to-site integrity assurance. The Silicon-based root of trust anchors end-to-end boot resilience while Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and role-based access controls safeguard trusted operations. AMD SEV and SME extend that protection to memory encryption for multi-tenant and virtualized environments.

Increase efficiency and accelerate operations with autonomous collaboration

The Dell OpenManage systems management portfolio tames the complexity of managing and securing IT infrastructure. Using Dell Technologies’ intuitive end-to-end tools, IT can deliver a secure, integrated experience by reducing process and information silos in order to focus on growing the business. The Dell OpenManage portfolio is the key to your innovation engine, unlocking the tools and automation that help you scale, manage, and protect your technology environment.

Sustainability

From recycled materials in our products and packaging, to thoughtful, innovative options for energy efficiency, the PowerEdge portfolio is designed to make, deliver, and recycle products to help reduce the carbon footprint and lower your operation costs. We even make it easy to retire legacy systems responsibly with Dell Technologies.

  1. 1Dell PowerEdge R5715 with AMD EPYC 9135 achieves a score of 350 in SPEC CPU 2017 FP Rate, versus 229 for a PowerEdge R7615 with AMD EPYC 9124 — a 52.83% improvement. Actual performance may vary.
  2. 2Based on Dell analysis of SPEC FP Rate scores of the 24-core AMD EPYC CPU in the PowerEdge R5715 (464) versus an HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Plus with 2x 32-core Intel Xeon Platinum 8358 CPUs (438). Both score similarly, but the Dell server achieves it with 62.5% fewer cores — with core-licensed software like Windows Server 2025 that equates to a 62.5% reduction in licensing costs. Data accurate as of 1/29/2026. Actual performance may vary.

Features

Lower TCO without giving up scalability

The Dell PowerEdge R4715 concentrates 17th generation performance into a single socket, reducing acquisition cost, per-core licensing exposure and energy draw at the same time.

Purpose-built for compute density

The Dell PowerEdge R4715 is a 1U, one-socket rack server. In a 1U chassis it takes half the rack space of its 2U sibling, the PowerEdge R5715, making it the natural fit for virtualization, scale-out databases and edge deployments where rack space is constrained.

  • One 5th Generation AMD EPYC 9005 Series processor with up to 32 cores per processor.
  • 24 DDR5 DIMM slots for up to 1.5 TB of memory, an unusually rich memory footprint for a single-socket 1U server.
  • Flexible front storage: 4 x 3.5-inch SAS, 8 x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA, or 8 x U.2 NVMe Gen4.
  • Dual OCP NIC 3.0 slots plus up to 3 PCIe Gen5 x16 low-profile slots for I/O headroom as the environment grows.
  • Configurable to suit diverse needs, these servers are Industry Standard open designs (DC-MHS) compliant.
