Above all, PowerVault MD Series is designed to future proof your investment, with support for emerging technologies such as 24Gb SAS host connectivity and PERC SAS4 controllers. PowerVault JBODs are ideal for high-capacity workloads and are available in three affordable enclosures including MD2412 (2U), MD2424 (2U) and MD2460 (4U). The MD2412 and MD2424 2U models use 3.5” HDDs and 2.5” SSDs respectively while the MD2460 4U dense model uses 3.5” HDDs and will scale up to 2.4PB. Systems administrators can use iDRAC to monitor and manage each MD model connected to PowerEdge servers, even when the server is turned off. iDRAC simplifies local and remote management tasks for administrators with a choice of using web-based or command line interfaces.

Manage and secure with ease
PowerEdge server management with iDRAC allows you to manage both the in-server storage and external DAS as a single interface, optimizing your 24Gb connectivity. The option to include self-encrypted drives (SEDs) in the MD Series enclosure with drive-level encryption allows you to prioritize drive security by ensuring your data is secure--even when the drive is removed. The SEDs also support instant Secure Erase, which permanently removes data when repurposing or decommissioning drives.

PowerVault MD Series use the same hot-swappable drives, fan, and power supplies to simplify and to minimize the cost of replacements.
